This position is on the GOES-R spacecraft program. GOES is the Lockheed Martin built next generation geosynchronous weather satellites being provided to our NOAA customer. The GOES-R spacecraft significantly improves the detection and observation of environmental phenomena that directly affect public safety, protection of property and our nation’s economic health and prosperity.

The GOES Mechanical Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations (ATLO) team is looking for a Systems Integration and Test Engineer Senior who will act as both the ATLO Floor Lead and Certified Test Conductor (CTC) that will coordinate operations efforts between the remaining GOES spacecraft in production and execute mechanical ATLO operations as a CTC.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:

• You will coordinate GOES-T and GOES-U spacecraft operations

• You will act as CTC to successfully execute GOES mechanical operations and procedures

• You will provide the mechanical team with GOES ATLO floor technical leadership

• You will mentor the CTCs and Technicians during GOES operations and in ATLO processes

• You will work to continuously improve and streamline GOES floor processes to drive efficiency

• You will support GOES spacecraft lead by driving issues to ground

• You will support LM Space Enterprise by promoting stretch assignments throughout the GOES team

Typical Experience:

• Typically has 5 years of professional experience.

• To be a successful contributor on the team, you will need to be proficient in leading multi-disciplinary teams to execute and complete mechanical integration and test operations, planning and coordinating complex tasks, understanding hardware design, troubleshooting skills, procedure and process development, test execution and verification activities for a two-shift test program including launch site support.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

• Knowledge and capability to develop/execute test procedures

• Integration and test experience

• Certified Test Conductor (CTC) or similar responsibility experience which would enable candidate to become a CTC

• Proficiency on MS office tools

• Must be willing to travel

• Must be willing to support off-shift and weekend work

• Familiar with the Lockheed Martin Automation Framework Test Procedure tools, VE CAMS tools

• Experience leading teams

• Strong test process discipline experience

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with other organizations, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives

• Strong analytical skills, strong problem solving and anomaly resolution skills.

• Self-starter who excels in a team environment, ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic team environment with aggressive Program schedules.

• Ability to obtain Secret or TS clearance.
