The selected candidate for this position will be a member of an airborne radar integrated product team and apply mechanical design and manufacturing practices knowledge in support of product final assembly, integration and test. They will collaborate with RMS subcontractors in resolving supply chain issues and will be expected to interface with Systems, Electrical Engineers, Drafting and Operations personnel in the development of design changes and product enhancements. This candidate will work closely with a senior engineers, component technology and configuration management personnel in the preparation and release of engineering specifications, parts lists and drawings. They will act as a customer and program technical interface with some travel to suppliers and the aircraft integration site required. Documentation and reporting of schedule, financial and technical progress on all tasks is expected.
Basic qualifications for this role will include a Bachelors or Masters level degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. An applicable educational background in solid mechanics, materials, fluid mechanics and heat transfer analysis techniques is required along with high proficiency with CAD software.
Qualifications also include:
Experience using PRO-Engineer (CREO)
Experience with drawing creation in accordance with ASME GD&T standards
Experience with product configuration management practices
General knowledge of manufacturing processes, electrical interconnection design and metal part fabrication techniques
Familiarity with MS Office Suite
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong problem solving skills
Must have the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance to at least the Secret level.
Experience with EPDM
Knowledge of cooling and fluid systems design
Experience with Electronics Packaging for military applications
