Lockheed Martin Mechanical Engineer in Liverpool, New York

Description: This hardware engineer will work as part of an engineering team to conceptualize and develop mechanical design solutions for hull array systems and transducers, and towed arrays. Skills that will be used in this position include the design of printed wiring boards, electronics packaging, structural designs and environmental survivability of structures and electronic modules intended for undersea applications. Design opportunities can range from prototyping to production on new product development or modifications to existing designs. The individual will be expected to work collaboratively with mechanical engineers as well as representatives from Manufacturing, Quality, Drafting and other engineering disciplines. The candidate must be proficient with the use of personal computers including word processing and spreadsheets and in documenting work performed for review and archiving.

Basic Qualifications:

Hardware/Mechanical (Design) Engineering:

PRO-Engineer (CREO) or equivalent.

Application of finite element analysis to a real-world situation

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong problem solving skills.

Familiarity with MS Office Suite.

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance.

Electronics packaging experience

Desired Skills:

Design for manufacturability.

Knowledge of materials and corrosion control.

ANSYS Workbench

Experience with additive manufacturing

Knowledge of Hull arrays and transducers

Experience with ANSYS APDL (Classic)

Experience designing for additive manufacturing

Experience with design optimization tools (generative design, topology optimization)
