Lockheed Martin Supplier Quality Engineer in Liverpool, New York

Description: Perform Supplier Quality Engineering duties in

support of the RMS Supplier Quality Assurance

organization. Products include a wide range of

mechanical, electro-mechanical and electrical

disciplines. Requires close coordination with on-site

and remote Sourcing representatives, Program

Quality, and Engineering. Reviews and identifies

program contractual and product drawing

requirements, and applies the applicable quality flowdown

text to material requisitions and/or purchase

orders. Experience with P2P (SAP) and EPDM

systems is preferred. Requires a working familiarity

with ISO 9001 & AS9100 quality management

systems, including AS9102 first article inspection

requirements. Responsible for basic quality services

including: supplier evaluation and selection,

verification of special processes, part/product

acceptance planning and verification, manufacturing

process and quality plan review, defect analysis,

timely root cause and corrective action

implementation for affected products. Makes

recommendations on potential supplier usage based

on cost, inspection of facilities, risk assessments, and

historical quality performance.

Travel to suppliers is required; travel frequency will vary based on program requirements and can be both domestic and international.

Basic Qualifications:

Excellent written & oral communication skills; ability

to work effectively in a cross-functional team

environment; familiarity with defect analysis and root

cause analysis methodologies; familiarity with

ISO9001 & AS9100 quality management systems;

familiarity with reading engineering drawings per

ASME Y14.5; familiarity with GD&T (Geometric

Dimensioning & Tolerancing); Engineering,

Manufacturing, Quality and/or Supply Chain

Management discipline related experience Familiarity

with mechanical, electrical, and/or electro-mechanical

product design and/or related manufacturing

processes.

Desired Skills:

Data analysis / SPC familiarity, Lean / Six Sigma /

Continuous Improvement experience (with Green Belt

certification); AS9102 First Article Inspection

requirement experience; understanding of the

Material Review Board process; ability to work

independently with suppliers. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Experience with P2P (SAP) and EPDM systems.
