Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer in Louisville, Colorado

Lockheed Martin in Colorado is seeking a Systems Engineer to work on a cutting-edge team developing FPGA embedded systems solutions targeting problems related to (but not limited to) cyber security.

The Job: The team is responsible for developing embedded system platforms in several exciting domains including satellites and avionics. This Systems Engineer position provides the opportunity to get involved in an exciting program designing and developing new embedded software and hardware components to be integrated into the future F-35 upgrades. The ideal candidate for this position would have experience designing, integrating and testing complex embedded systems as well as general systems engineering experience including writing deliverable documentation, requirements, test procedures, and users manuals. Involvement in all phases of system development and verification is required, i.e. development of software requirements and design documents, project plans, test plans, test execution, and training customers on the use of the products. The selected candidate may also be involved in various embedded and cyber security related research and development projects.

Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in an engineering or scientific discipline with 7-9 years of relevant experience • Experience throughout the entire system engineering life cycle (requirements generation, system definition, design, development, test and deployment) • Experience developing system engineering documentation including, requirements, design documents, test plans, test procedures, and user manuals

Desired skills • Candidates with specialized systems engineering experience including DO-254 (Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware) and Design Assurance Plan for CEH (Complex Electronic Hardware) are preferred. • Must have strong teamwork skills • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills • Demonstrated understanding of agile development within a scrum team • Proven ability to lead teams and work in all aspects of the systems engineering and operations support efforts associated with the development, integration, testing and demonstration of a system solution which complies with all performance requirements • Experience with Jira and Confluence • Understanding of networking standards and network security
