Description: Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Platform System Senior Manager

Role Description

• The experience group senior manager takes ownership of the ultimate success of the MES platform and is responsible for all of its all major technology decisions (e.g. upgrade decisions, major architectural decisions, establishment of coding standards)

• Lead work intake process and overseeing cross-product epic grooming, alignment, and sequencing of work

• Partner with stakeholders, working with Aero business and broader Lockheed Martin enterprise on key enterprise initiatives

• Align with counterparts in Architecture/Digitization orgs on enterprise initiatives to determine strategy, roadmaps, tech directions, integration with FEP, etc.

• Ensure that teams are adhering to Agile fundamentals and maximizing productivity through sound Agile practices


Technology and platform development

• Determine correct technology choices (e.g. upgrade/hosting decisions) to deliver business value

• Manage manufacturing workflow, process automation, and overall role of MES in Lockheed Martin’s business

• Provide guidance and influence decisions to facilitate product delivery and navigate technology enterprise

Customer and stakeholder engagement

• Own intake process for new work affecting multiple experience teams

• Prioritize (jointly with customers) new requests against existing backlogs

Agile process facilitation

• Lead and collaborate with Agile teams in completing MES projects

•Define scope and mandate of Agile teams, as well as key skill-sets and capabilities for the team

• Integrate/coordinate MES requirements across Agile teams

Team resourcing and management

• Coordinate team resourcing and budgeting

Location preference: Fort Worth, TX / Marietta, GA / Palmdale, CA. Location flexible to alternative major LM sites with the ability to travel as needed to support the Aeronautics business

Desired Skills: Domain Knowledge

• Overarching MES roadmap and strategies

• Coordination with BA counterparts and EO to maximize efficiencies across the corporation

• Knowledge/experience with MES software packages, SAP, and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)

• Strategic vendor relationships



• Knowledge of MES processes

• Knowledge of MES systems and strategies

• Knowledge/experience in agile, application development, DevSecOps, cloud, automated test, disruptive technologies, and cyber security

• FSL and CoA leadership traits, ability to work in teams, ability to work with Aero Operations personnel, and to collaborate with Operations and IT personnel across LM

• Strong executive presentation and communication skills, ability to represent Aero on enterprise and industry initiatives
