Description: This position is a unique and exciting opportunity to support the full life cycle of capital equipment acquisition projects that are being driven by new business and facility growth. This position will manage multiple capital equipment projects from the proposal phase through the purchasing and implementation phase, while driving multifunctional and external project coordination.
This position provides a diverse development opportunity, combining Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Project Management. The primary scope of work for this position is related to automated manufacturing equipment for electronic assemblies.
This position will support technical equipment evaluation and setup validation, in addition to technical tasks which include machine specifications and selection, capacity and capability studies, optimized facility layouts, cost estimates, and return on investment studies.
Love where you work, enjoy where you live! Ocala is the largest manufacturing site within Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire control (MFC). MFC Ocala is responsible for manufacturing and assembling circuit cards, cable and harnesses, and electro-optic assemblies for 20+ programs in an air conditioned facility. Our facility invests in new and upgraded automated equipment to maximize quality and efficiency. Our facility has a highly flexible automated circuit card assembly process including localized wave solder, hot air solder, robotic contact solder, 3D solder paste inspection, automated optical inspection, and automated X-Ray inspection. After assembling our circuit cards we environmentally protect them utilizing a fully automated, double sided conformal coating work cell. We are continuously striving to increase machine-to-machine communication throughout our automated lines. We have significant investments in braiding, shielding, and sleeving preparation equipment for support of our cable and harness manufacturing. This includes advanced UV/CO2 laser marking and stripping. In order to support our electro-optic assembly we have a 10,000 sq ft ISO Class 7 clean room. We continue to push the limits of automated electro-mechanical assembly with an automation development center that is actively researching new uses for our 5-axis and 6-axis robotic arms.
MFCREFER - manufacturing
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or in a related discipline
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, industrial processes, technical writing, and teaming.
- This position will be located at a facility that requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
- Experience with manufacturing equipment, facility layouts, project management, and capital acquisition activities.
- Experience with mechanical assembly manufacturing and wire harness assembly
- Experienced with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Access, Word, Excel).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts and techniques, Pro-E, or
equivalent CAD software, tool design, electronic, packaging design, and MRS, concepts
- Leadership experience.
- Experience in a Manufacturing environment
