Lockheed Martin Waste Treatment Operator - Ocala, FL in Ocala, Florida

Description: Utilizes independent judgment under general supervision to control, operate and monitor waste treatment and related equipment to decontaminate, neutralize and dispose of waste liquids. Monitors operation of automatic waste treatment systems and checks for proper calibration.

Records data such as number of gallons of waste water, quality/quantity of suspended solids pumped into storage tanks and weight of total hazardous and nonregulated waste for compliance with requirements of regulatory bodies.

Responds to chemical and biohazard spills. Cleans up spills to regulatory standards.

Collects scrap wire, used batteries, and other recyclable material to be shipped out for recycling. Coordinates shipments of recyclable material, hazardous and universal waste, and industrial waste water at the direction of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) in accordance with environmental regulations. Pack and label waste containers in accordance with environmental regulations and under the direction of ESH in preparation for coordinated shipments.

Performs administrative work related to job responsibilities. Performs Computer based tasks including E-mail, and Microsoft Office applications and interaction with a sophisticated computer based chemical management system.

Will be required to operate a forklift in order to transport generated waste to a consolidated accumulation area in conjunction with other duties associated with Waste Treatment.

Maintains and records data as necessary in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recordkeeping standards.

Will be required to obtain and maintain forklift, Department of Transportation (DOT), and Hazmat certifications that job duties require.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to operate a forklift.

Must be able to maintain Department of Transportation (DOT), and Hazmat certifications that job duties require.

Must have good computer skills (word, excel, PowerPoint etc.).

This position is located at a facility that requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
