Lockheed Martin Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer, Orlando FL in Orlando, Florida

Description: A Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) Simulation Engineer is required to support the design, development and implementation of the HWIL initiatives for a new weapons system. This will include the HWIL architecture definition, development of IFS real-time models and interfaces to HWIL (Fidelity reduction, Open Loop Testing, Drivers Testing, etc). The HWIL Engineer will be involved in the designing, producing, integrating and testing of vehicle software and hardware, connections, test and analysis equipment and stimulation equipment into the HWIL facility. Support to integration team in debugging software, hardware, connectors, timing, and designs is required. Support to system performance assessments and trade studies is required. The HWIL Engineer will also be involved in the integration, test, verification and validation of the system and various subsystems. Support will also be provided for subsystem test beds. Prior missile system design experience is required.


Basic Qualifications:

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) assignments:

Perform Missile 6DOF simulation design and analysis and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) design and simulation analysis.

Develop and analyze guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms.

Design target tracking systems which generally include target state estimation and target/detection association.

Demonstrate experience with optimal state estimation filters such as KALMAN and Extended KALMAN filter (EKF).

Perform design and analyses of terrestrial navigation and navigation state error estimation.

Contribute to the definition of an operational flight program (OFP) with integrated high fidelity 6DOF simulations.

Support preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses.

Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformation.

Demonstrate mastery of MATLAB and C/C++ programming.

Ability to obtain an interim security clearance and considered a US Citizen.

Desired Skills:

Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation experience is desired.

Flight software integration and verification experience is also a plus.

Experience with Embedded Software, RF/EO knowledge, and experience programming in FORTRAN is also a plus.
