Lockheed Martin Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer / Orlando FL in Orlando, Florida

Description: Lockheed Martin has an exciting opportunity for an early-to-mid level engineer, who is interested and has an aptitude for Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

- developing and testing 6-DoF simulation models,

- conducting 6-DoF performance analysis,

- developing algorithms and tools,

- verifying and testing flight software, and

- integrating algorithms in the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) lab.

Must have C/C++, FORTRAN, or MATLAB programming experience.



Basic Qualifications:

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) assignments:

Perform Missile 6DOF simulation design and analysis and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) design and simulation analysis.

Develop and analyze guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms.

Design target tracking systems which generally include target state estimation and target/detection association.

Demonstrate experience with optimal state estimation filters such as KALMAN and Extended KALMAN filter (EKF).

Perform design and analyses of terrestrial navigation and navigation state error estimation.

Contribute to the definition of an operational flight program (OFP) with integrated high fidelity 6DOF simulations.

Support preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses.

Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformation.

Demonstrate mastery of MATLAB and C/C++ programming.

Ability to obtain an interim security clearance prior to start and considered a US Citizen.

Desired Skills:

Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation experience is desired.

Flight software integration and verification experience is also a plus.

Experience with Embedded Software, RF/EO knowledge, and experience programming in FORTRAN is also a plus.
