Lockheed Martin Low Observables Design and Analysis Engineer, Orlando FL in Orlando, Florida
Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a System Low Observables (LO) Engineer experienced in the design, integration, testing, and verification activities associated with the development of Low Observable systems. The LO Engineer will perform analysis of vehicle and component RCS predicted performance to include LO performance trade studies during the program design phase. The LO Engineer will perform roll-ups of component data and will coordinate performance specification allocations to both internal designs and to supplier designs. During system integration and test, measured data will be analyzed for LO design verification. Coordinates with other design and requirements engineers to arrive at balanced designs.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
5 or more years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
Candidate must have experience with the following Low Observable Engineering assignments:
Perform design analyses/trade studies for material selection, platform configuration and IR and RF phenomenology.
Demonstrate knowledge, or experience, ranging from EO expertise to RF and MMW scattering phenomena.
Demonstrate knowledge and/or experience with complex low observable design and material technologies.
Experience in the application of electromagnetics and scattering phenomena (RF and MMW) to signature prediction required.
A firm understanding of radar seeker/antenna systems desired.
Currently holds a Secret clearance with a background investigation within the last 5 years.
Perform verification of platform low observable characteristics via comprehensive RCS testing.
Has an advanced understanding of electromagnetics and experience in the design, analyses and test of radomes intended for integration on signature controlled vehicles.
Prior experience with system RCS design, analysis, and testing through the program lifecycle
Prior experience with utilizing Xpatch and method of moments analysis codes for RCS predictions.
Experience assuring that system IR and RF signatures are defined, minimized, and controlled through the entire development process.
Experience assuring that low signature design solutions are coordinated and managed with program disciplines and suppliers.
Demonstrate experience with radar absorbing material, paints, seals, and their corrosion resistant properties.
Demonstrate knowledge associated with conformal radome design and radome, antenna, and platform RF interactions.
