Lockheed Martin Senior Systems Safety Engineer / Hazard Analysis / CSP / Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida
Description: -The Systems Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the products developed at LMMFC and sold to the military are safe for the warfighter to use.
-Candidate will support MIL-STD-882 DoD System Safety Program.
-The system safety program will cover all aspects of the system (both hardware and software) including the missile, field test and handling equipment, and carrier platform interfaces.
-Primary responsibilities will include:
-Development and interpretation of System Safety requirements and flow-down of requirements to subassemblies and subcontractors
-Evaluate design for safety compliance
-Execute Hazard analyses such as System Hazard Analysis (SHA), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) bent pin analysis/energy trace, Safety Assessment Reports (SAR), and Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SSHA)
-Perform numerical calculations and analyses in support of hazard event probabilities and system contributions to nuclear surety assessments
-Conduct safety check lists and inspections
-Catalog and track the use of hazardous materials as defined in the Hazardous Materials Management Plan
-Support design & test readiness reviews
-Review & influence test procedures for safety
-Prepare data packages and briefing material for Weapon System Safety Review Board, Air Force Non Nuclear Munitions Safety Board, Navy Weapon System Explosive Safety Review Board, Army Fuze Board, Navy Fuze and Initiation Systems Technical Review Panel, etc.
-Identify and maintain Critical Items List

-Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.
Desired Skills: -Experience supporting MIL-STD-882 programs.
-Software Safety analyses per AMCOM 385-17; including Hardware/Software fault insertion design and test experience.
-Experience in electrical circuit design and/or performing bent pin analysis/energy trace.
-Knowledge of Human Factors and Systems Engineering is a plus.
-Candidate must currently hold an Active Department of Defense Secret clearance with a closed investigation (or re-investigation) within last 6 years.
-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent professional experience with combined education.
-Must have at least 2 years of professional experience.
-System safety experience in developing and interpreting system safety requirements / design practices.
-Experience performing Safety Hazard Analyses, including fault tree analysis.
-Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Technical writing experience and ability to present in front of large groups.
-Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
