Lockheed Martin Servo and Stabilization Engineer, Orlando FL in Orlando, Florida

Description: Seeking a Servo and Control Systems Engineer to design precision gimbal stabilization and controls for an airborne electro-optic (EO) sensor system. The position is for a new sensor system requiring the development and modeling of closed loop control and gimbal mechanics. Definition of the control architecture and performance evaluation of alternate design concepts is required. The candidate must have experience modelling 3D dynamic systems in MATLAB/Simulink or similar simulation environment.

The Servo and controls Engineer must have experience with:

- feedback controls,

- gimbal stabilization and control,

- inertial sensors such as gyros, accelerometers and IMUs.

- digital and analog electronics such as drive amplifiers, motors, ADC, position resolvers, etc.

The Servo and Controls Engineer must have controls design experience and as well as hands-on hardware testing experience.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform the following Servo and Stabilization Engineering assignments:

Design precision gimbal control stabilization for airborne electro-optic (EO) sensor systems.

Develop of closed loop control models and specification of gimbal mechanics for new sensor systems.

Define the control system architecture and evaluate design concepts for required performance.

Demonstrate experience with feedback controls, gimbal stabilization, and inertial sensors such as gyros, accelerometers and IMUs.

Demonstrate experience with digital and analog electronics such as drive amplifiers, motors, ADC, and position resolvers.

Perform modelling of 3D dynamic systems in MATLAB/Simulink or a similar simulation environment.

Demonstrate an understanding of optimal estimation in applications such as target tracking, navigation and transfer alignment.
