This requisition is for a Systems/Software Quality Engineer in Orlando, Florida. The position will interface directly with the program's Quality Program Manager (QPM) and will functionally report to the LM MST EQA Center of Excellence (COE) Manager.

Responsible for systems/software quality engineering. Systems/Software Quality Engineering activities include quality planning, audit conduct, reviewing CDRLs and software work products against plans, attending inspections and formal reviews, performing software verification and validation activities and certifying media and documentation produced for software releases.

Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures. Conducts software inspection, testing, verification and validation. Implements software development and maintenance processes and methods. Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract. Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability. The position will require the individual to work with the project managers, team leads, systems engineers, and configuration managers to help drive the successful implementation of projects, tasks and technical deliverables. The position will require the candidate to help edit test plans, initiate implementation methodologies and paradigms, and assist with the implementation/utilization of Quality Assurance across the project.

Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. 2 years of professional experience. Experience and understanding of the implementation of Software Quality Engineering techniques, best practices and business processes within Engineering Lifecycles and Projects. Functional knowledge of software design & coding techniques (C/C++ knowledge) to include reading and understanding source code. Capable of auditing both software process (i.e., sound configuration management practices) and products inclusive of checklist development, interviewing, objective evidence gathering and report writing. Excellent communication skills to enable productive interaction with program personnel, customers (both internal and external).

Must be detail oriented with strong decision making capabilities. Root Cause Analysis Experience. Knowledge of AS9100. Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and production integration and test processes. Identify product and process non-compliances and assist developing associated root causes and appropriate corrective actions focused on proactive actions to prevent recurrence.

Experience actively participating in the peer review evaluation process/work products, and participate/interface with engineering, configuration management, contracts and production integrated product team members supporting program activities to assure processes and products are compliant to contractual and RMS policy and procedure requirements. Willing and able to be “All In, Everyday”. Demonstrated task prioritizing and goal achievement despite a challenging environment. Comfortable supporting changing priorities on short notice to achieve program milestones and production delivery targets, including periodic weekend / overtime work.

Desired skills Masters degree will be considered in lieu of experience. Experience using JIRA, CM and Test tools within a large program environment is preferred. Knowledge and/or experience working Agile development and/or C/C++ programming language. Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle. Advanced Analytical Skills
