Lockheed Martin Materials and Process Engineer in Owego, New York
Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the production of electronic assemblies. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing operators to facilitate assembly performance. Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and increase yields. Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement on a variety of production processes.
Basic Qualifications Basic Qualifications Familiarity with common manufacturing processes & Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering or related degree from accredited college/university. Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing and mechanical assembly processes. Familiarity with mechanical engineering drawings and bill of material. Must be able to obtain & maintain a secret security clearance. -Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Desired skills Familiarity with basic mechanical assembly and soldering processes. Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and principles. Experience with tool design. Experience with root cause and corrective action tools. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience in a related industry.
