Primarily responsible for developing and optimizing System Safety, Reliability, Maintainability and Testability (RMT) approaches for System of systems, systems, subsystems and components. Specific tasks include:

•Ability to influence the complete life cycle; CONOPs, design, development, verification test, and sustainment based on program requirements by resolving System Safety & RMT technical issues using analysis, data, industry practices, and academic research

•Ability to evaluate impact of environmental and operational factors directly related to System Safety & RMT approach, analysis, and testing

•Perform trade studies to optimize Safety & RMT performance, and total ownership cost

•Allocate, Predict and document System Safety & RMT requirements and analysis including the application of Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostics Analysis (FMEDA), Fault Tree Analysis, Reliability prediction analysis & techniques to drive and refine the design

•Ability to plan and perform safety & reliability testing and utilize reliability growth models as part of an overall reliability program

•Implementation of Failure Reporting And Corrective Actions Systems (FRACAS) process and interpreting statistical data derived from failure data to determine root cause and corrective actions to eliminate failure mode

•Integration of reliability, maintainability, and availability including Testability/Diagnostics with sustainment programs i.e Performance Based Logistics (PBL)

Conduct design analysis and system modeling, applying system engineering principles with emphasis on safety, reliability, maintainability and testability, systems diagnostics, and troubleshooting. Also will develop analytical solutions to tasks within the System Safety & Reliability and Maintainability disciplines. Needs to possess good communication skills for customer presentations and have the ability to work in a team environment as part of a multi-disciplined team effort involving many companies and customers.

Desired Skills: Masters degree in Electrical Engineering with 7 to 9 years of experience conducting hazard analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Criticality & Diagnostics analysis (FMECA / FMEDA), reliability predictions, fault tree analysis, FRACAS experience, hazardous materials analysis, safety & reliability testing.

Secret Clearance with prior operational experience.

Experience with aviation related systems, procedures & standards.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

4 year degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Computer/Software), math or related science degree (Physics Degree) with 7 to 9 years of experience in the System Safety & Reliability Engineering disciplines.

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office,

Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
