Lockheed Martin Test Engineer / Digital/RF/Software Integration and Test Engineer / Owego, NY in Owego, New York

Description: The position entails establishing electro-optical test equipment, test methods and test procedures for the Helios laser system awarded by the US Navy. The candidate must have solid knowledge of optical engineering principles including performance, defect diagnosis and troubleshooting. Skill required to interface to test equipment to render performance judgement against criteria, with feedback and collaboration with design and manufacturing a must. Individual must have the necessary skills to integrate a Design for Test process collaborating with both hardware and software development to achieve a full test suite and production ready process. Analyze various Program Trouble Reports (PTR’s) and Software Trouble Reports (STR’s) and implement appropriate software updates to optimize Product Test performance. Proficiency in software development/modification with a variety of programming languages (ex; LabView, C, C++, C#) is required. Individual needs to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows software (Office - EXCEL, WORD, Access, etc). Personal characteristics must include Flexibility, Adaptability, Leadership, and Self-starter requiring a business insight with minimal direct supervision. Must be able to work both individually, as part of a team, and able to interact and work well with both internal/external customers. Applicant will require strong communication and presentation skills as required to keep peers and management informed. The assignment begins for a minimum of 6 months in the Bothell, WA site with expectation to transfer permanently to the Owego, NY site for production. Applicant must be available to work as required to complete projects, off-shifts, weekends, modified work-weeks as needed. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science with an MS in Optical Engineering is highly desired. This position requires the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of Optical/Digital; Circuitry Equipment knowledge, Testing, Troubleshooting, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Root Cause Analysis on System, Units or subassemblies. Analyze the Test System with respect to hardware and software related issues. Perform modification in a variety of programming languages (ex; LabView, C, C++, C#, Visual Basic. Engineering planning, resources, capacity. Flexibility is required for travel between sites as the program progresses. Adherence to Quality Procedures within the Product Test organization.

Self starter with exceptional ability to assimilate new concepts in Optical/Electrical engineering and lead a project with minimal guidance.
