Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Engineer Principle //E6 // Advanced Programs in Palmdale, California

Description: Lockheed Martin Skunk Works is looking for a Propulsion Engineer to continue our 75 year tradition of developing advanced systems. This position will support an ADP (Advanced Development Program) effort as a Lead Propulsion Engineer. Responsibilities include directing the technical activity of a propulsion team engaged in conducting installed 1-d gas turbine performance simulations, inlet and exhaust system trade studies, assisting in defining propulsion installation specifications, propulsion ground testing, and analysis for component and full, high-speed vehicle applications. Specific experience with experimental propulsion-related testing is desired. The candidate must be comfortable planning technical tasks, including associated cost and schedule estimates. Good leadership skills, good communication skills and strong interpersonal and presentation skills are highly desirable.

Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in US. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

--Bachelor Degree in a technical discipline with 20 plus years of experience OR a Masters degree in a engineering technical discipline with 18 plus years of experience.

-- Experience with Advanced Propulsion System Design and Development.

--Experience in Team Leadership

- -Experience with a strong background in advanced inlet and exhaust system development.

--Experience with Propulsion Integration

-- Candidate must have active secret clearance and will have SAR access eligibility

Desired Skills:

-- Engine company coordination experience

-- High speed aircraft design experience

-- Propulsion system testing experience

-- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-- Ability to interact effectively with customers and senior management
