Description: Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Program
This engineering position is with our Historic Skunk Works in Palmdale, California. This position supports Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) efforts. Responsibilities also include integration and coordination with software design, implementation, and systems integration teams, and reporting to Technical Management and Cost Account Manager responsible for subsystem architecture and vehicle management.
Must have demonstrated working knowledge of flight control system architecture, autonomous control algorithms & analysis, system integration and test. Requires knowledge and experience in Navigation design and implementation, Kalman filter design, trades and performance. Must have a good understanding of aircraft stability, control, and aerodynamics characteristics
Strong system engineering experience and the ability to mechanize the requirements for Guidance, Navigation and Control systems is highly desired. Prior experience in hypersonic flight regime is highly desired. The selected candidate will participate in addressing GN&C direction with senior leadership and the customer at program meetings.
Good oral and written communication skills required as is the ability to flex and adapt in a fast-paced team environment. Selected applicant will be subjected to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and special program clearances.
Must be a US Citizen this position is located at a facility that requires special access. Secret Clearance is required prior to start.
Bachelor's or Above in Engineering Technical Discipline
Knowledge and experience in Guidance and Control Algorithm design and implementation
Experience with MATLAB OR Simulink.
Secret Clearance is required prior to start.
Ability to clearly, concisely, and briefly communicate technical design, requirements, and trade study results to internal, external, and customer team members in formal program reviews and informal meetings.
Proficient with 6-degree-of-freedom simulation/control laws development tools, aircraft/system modeling and Matlab/Simulink software.
Hands-on experience in the design of flight control laws (algorithms & software) for aviation applications
Experience with C programming.
