Description: Inspects all types of complex metallic and non-metallic machined, fabricated or welded parts, precision assemblies, tools and parts for workmanship, dimensional accuracy, interchangeability and compliance with applicable engineering information, specifications and tooling by analyzing engineering prints, sketches, loft data and other references, and developing, devising and formulating machine commands, and instructions that determine the inspection sequencing of computerized coordinate measuring machines where it is required to exercise a complete knowledge of inspection practices and procedures, and the application of Company and customer specifications, as well as a knowledge of sheet metal and machine shop practice, machinability of metals and aircraft fabrication methods; determines nominal dimensions, deviations, out of tolerance conditions and sequences inspection points exercising ingenuity and originality to minimize setups and machine time; determines and defines axis and part locations to inspect all necessary dimensions; inputs machine control media, commands or instructions by operation of terminals, input devices or other control systems; operates computerized coordinate measuring machines to measure critical dimensions and coordinated dimensions to exacting tolerances; monitors machines while in automatic operation for conformance to machine instructions/commands and records measurement reading. Selects holding fixtures, devices or positioning tooling or makes complex setups where no tooling is available. Determines reference points by making surface table layouts, using trigonometric and mathematical calculations and trial machine measurements. Calls up and utilizes stored programs through computer graphics, CADAM networks or other reference sources. Coordinates and recommends changes in design, tooling and planning operational sequences to engineering, inspection, tooling and supervisory personnel. Prepares and maintains records, tapes, disks, notes of machine instructions, codes, formats and other data for future reference or use; stamps or otherwise approves acceptable items; rejects and initiates documentation to effect disposition of unacceptable items. Must be able to obtain certifications required by the company, customer or law.

Desired Skills: Familiarity with LM Aero Quality Systems
Must be able to demonstrate a knowledge or have completed training in the following job skills: Blueprint I and II, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance and Interpretation of 3D data.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to setup, align, and use 3D data in the development of CCMM programs.
Must have numerical control machine shop experience and/or a thorough understanding of the Cartesian coordinate system.
Must be able to obtain certifications required by the company, customer or law.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Standing: Requires full time standing with limited resting periods and to walk distances. Sit for extended periods if required.
Heights: Able to work at heights. Able to climb stairs or ladders as required. Able to work off of step stools, scissor lifts, lift platforms and aircraft structure without handrails.
Overhead work: Able to work overhead as required.
Weight restriction: Able to Lift/push/pull/carry a minimum of 20 lbs.
Body positioning: Able to twist/bend (neck or waist) and stoop. Able to work in awkward positions as required. Able to squat/kneel/crawl/reach as required.
Work content: Able to use/hold/manipulate small tools and parts with hands. Simple grasping, power grasping and fine manipulation is required. Able to use vibrating tools and perform torqueing operations. Able to use power equipment. Repetitive tasks will be performed. Able to use computer keyboard, mouse and monitor for extended periods of time.
Vision/Hearing: High level Hand/Eye coordination required. Corrective lenses may be used. Eye protection required in many instances. Color differentiation may be required. Must be able to hear at level required for positions.
Environmental: Able to work around noise, chemicals, fumes and dust. Capable of using respirators and other personal protective equipment including hearing protection if required. Able to work outside if needed.
Attendance: Regular attendance required based on set work schedule. Able to work any shift.
Vehicles/Power moving equipment: Able to operate as required. Able to work around heavy equipment or machinery.
