Lockheed Martin Systems Design & Installation Engineer, Sr Staff in Palmdale, California

This position is a Systems Design & Installation Engineer for an advanced air vehicle. The candidate will apply advanced technical knowledge to develop innovative and ingenious solutions to highly complex system integration problems. Systems may include avionics, mission equipment, fuel, hydraulics, secondary power and environmental control. The candidate will function as the prime technical contact to management and customers. Tasks are often self-generated with little to no oversight. Considered an expert and authority in subsystem integration.

Responsibilities for this position:

• Development, test, and validation of new and modified system designs.

• Creation and/or modification of primary and secondary structure with 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations.

• Creation and/or modification of system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures, statements of work, trade studies, and component/ground/flight test plans.

• Coordination with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams, management and the customer.

• Technical engineering support for manufacturing, installation and testing at Lockheed Martin and external supplier facilities.

• Function in a project leadership role where they manage system performance, budget and schedule.

***Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access. Selected Applicant must have a secret clearance with an investigation completed within the last 5 years.***

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with aircraft system design/installation

• Bachelor’s Degree or above degree in an Engineering Discipline

• Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool

***Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access. Selected Applicant must have a secret clearance with an investigation completed within the last 5 years.***

Desired Skills:

• Experience with electrical equipment installation

• Experience with CATIA V5

• Experience with metallic and composite design

• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Experience with structural analysis for preliminary sizing

• Bachelor’s degree with 14 years of professional experience; or 12 years of professional experience with a Master’s degree
