Lockheed Martin Systems Security Engineer in Palmdale, California
Description: The Skunk Works is looking for world-class talent in mission systems engineering to join the 75 year tradition of creating advanced aircraft.
The candidate will perform Computer Systems Architect activities in support of an ADP (Advanced Development Program) classified program. Applicant will be part of a small architecture team that is responsible for overseeing the technical execution of multiple system modifications to ensure that the final delivered system meets contract requirements. The architecture team ensures that all introduced design updates/modifications are properly vetted and introduced into the system through a mechanism that will enable a stable and common baseline.
The candidate will participate in all phases of the engineering process (research, design, documentation, implementation, integrate, testing) to deliver a system capable of meeting the customer requirements. The system is composed of Lockheed Martin developed software, enterprise computing resources (Network attached storage, network switches/routing infrastructure, Windows and Linux operating systems, VMware virtualization, backend server computing, etc..), technical documentation, hardware drawings, server racks and Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) hardware and software.
The ideal candidate will be able to solve problems rapidly and will have excellent communication skills. Candidate will be expected to update or create new documentation to share knowledge at each phase of the project with a multidisciplinary team. Some travel is required.
The candidate will be responsible for developing documentation for specific system capabilities upgrades and modifications. Coordinate with other program groups in the development and maintenance of systems.
The candidate must be effective working in team environment environments. Strong verbal and writing skills are essential.
Must be a US Citizen. Position is located at a facility that requires special access. Selected applicant must have a Top Secret Security Clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years..
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree
Knowledge with the Open Systems Interconnection model layers or related network switch or router concepts
Knowledge with software development
Experience in computing architectures dealing with software, hardware and network functions
Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and/or peer to peer application issues
Up to 20% travel required

Must show demonstrated ability in the following:
Experience managing vendor relationships for break/fix, root cause analysis, escalations, and technology refresh
Experience and knowledge of switching and routing with specific knowledge on TCP/IP, IP addressing & subnets, other network protocols, standards and architecture.
Experience in information security infrastructure and JSIG implementations
Experience with software development (architecture, design, code implementation, code repositories, etc…)
Experience with enterprise computing resources (Network attached storage, network switches/routing infrastructure, Windows and Linux operating systems, VMware virtualization, backend server computing, etc..)
Good documentation and technical writing skills to maintain system(s) configurations and network diagrams
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to multi-task and manage priorities
Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills illustrated through related work experience
Ability to travel as required
