This is an exciting opportunity on the FBM Program to work with an array of experienced planners, ranging from Program Planners/Schedulers to Production Planners.
As a Manufacturing Operations Support Team Member you will join a fast-paced, high volume, team based material organization at the Santa Cruz Ordnance Test Facility and perform duties as the backup for both the Integrated Planning Group Lead and Santa Cruz Facility (SCF) Nuclear Weapon Related Materiel (NWRM) lead in the Packaging and Shipping Department (PSD). At times you will provide direction to hourly employees responsible for inventory management of small ordnance and classified materials; packaging of equipment and materials for off-base shipment, including hazardous material certification; packaging of equipment and materials for transfer to Government supply system; and performing vehicle inspections on assigned vehicles. Additional responsibilities will include:
• Perform the duties of the Ordnance, NWRM/GOE and Packaging and planning activities associated with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) transactions • Perform manufacturing activities within various manufacturing functions • Maintain production systems integrity to drive inventory optimization to minimize cost • Expedite and optimize material flow through the supply chain to meet customer requirements • Coordinates with manufacturing and Operations Management to provide shop floor control on buy parts, analyze and control production schedule and capacity requirements, execute the plan, provide timely status and expedite or work around plans to preserve schedule • Coordinate with Supply Chain Stakeholders including Procurement and Operations Management to determine appropriate time phased plan for procured parts and execute processes to ensure deliverables meet production schedule requirements. Coordinates activities regarding ordnance magazines, kitting areas and warehouses • Provide proposal activity support for the Santa Cruz Facility
Basic Qualifications • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of directly relevant job experience • Knowledge with Department of Transportation Regulations. • Project/production planning experience • United States citizenship • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance
Desired skills • Experience working with a Union work force. • Knowledge of NWRM (Nuclear Weapons Related Material), shipping, receiving, packaging, and inventory processes. • Knowledge with NISPOM (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual) Security Rules and Regulations • Project/production planning experience • Well organized with ability to prioritize multiple tasks • Knowledge of CFR49 (Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulation) rules and regulations. • Proficient OS8244 (Ordnance Specification) packaging requirements, MIL-STD-129 labeling, MIL-STD-1320 blocking and bracing. • Proficient with NAVSEA OP5, DoD 4145.26, OD60661, OD62341, OD14309, NOSSAINST 8023.13 (Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity Instruction) rules and regulations. • Proficient with BATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) Orange Book rules
