Lockheed Martin Ordnance Assembly Kitter in Santa Cruz, California

Description: This is a Santa Cruz Facility position:

IAM Hourly represented employees who currently work at the main (Sunnyvale/Palo Alto) unit, Santa Cruz, VAFB or Eastern Range facilities must apply to open requisitions on Brass Ring to be considered for the position.

Check inert and ordnance items against documents accompanying them on receipt in kitting area to verify identification numbers (e.g., part numbers, purchase lot numbers), quantity, inspection acceptance and similar items. Clean items, and cut, trim and weigh materials as required. Make up parts and materials into kits in accordance with types and quantities required for specific assemblies, obtaining information from authorizing documents such as shop orders which specify such requirements.

Maintain control and related records to reflect part and material status, and discrepancies such as shortages and improper parts; notify designated personnel of discrepancies. As required, perform work of the Ordnance Assembler, 533-3, occupation and installation of harness assemblies in separation rings where work is reduced to clearly defined repetitive operations.

Basic Qualifications:

Ability to recognize parts and materials involved, and associate them with identifying nomenclature. Ability to read and obtain information from shop orders and related work authorizing documents.

Desired Skills:

Knowledge of safety requirements in connection with handling of ordnance items below Class A category.
