Lockheed Martin Quality Assurance Engineer in Silverdale, Washington
Description: Performs Quality Assurance tasks as a member of the Material Review Board (MRB) in support of ordnance production operations. Must collaborate with engineering to approve MRB dispositions.
Develops and/or assesses solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate to difficult complexity involving multiple engineering disciplines.
Exercises technical responsibility and authority for review and signature of waivers and deviations involved in Missile assembly, disassembly, testing and repair. This involves review, categorization and disposition of non-conforming items, initiation and accomplishment of corrective actions to preclude recurrence, and ensuring routing and proper level of company and customer approval.
Provides routine liaison between Lockheed Martin and its customers to ensure quality requirements conformance. Supports audits of Quality Management Systems, closed loop corrective action, and root cause analysis. Entails working in a team environment to close open audit findings.
Performs metrics and data analysis to ensure quality goals are met and contributes to process improvement.
Must be able to work 2nd shift (swings) if required.
May need to work weekends and occasionally on call to support operations.
Some travel may be required.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (i.e., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (i.e., math, physics, chemistry).
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Demonstrated analytical capabilities.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to evaluate product conformance to requirements.
Ability to tactfully achieve desired actions.
Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration.
Experience communicating to and influencing others in a concise, data driven manner.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint.
Experience using one or more of the following: Root Cause Analysis methods and Corrective Action, statistical analysis, statistical process control, sampling, Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement, or supplier quality management.
