Function as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). With guidance from the site ISSM will be responsible for systems security, testing and system accreditation activities. Apply information technology security principles and configure security settings for Windows Servers/Clients, LINUX/UNIX, PC Desktops, LAN management, and supported applications. Complete weekly system audits and conduct media reviews as directed by the site ISSM. Develop and implement government approved information security procedures and plans for the operation of multiple networked and standalone classified computers, and coordinate government agency approvals. Consult on the design, development, integration, and analysis of classified computing systems with the site ISSM. Conduct self-inspection reviews. Conduct comprehensive investigation of computer security incidents, coordinating with other organizations for expertise.
Additional scope will include policy interpretation, ongoing guidance and direction to on site personnel on IS Security issues, and participation in applicable Review Boards and Technical Exchange Meetings. Interact with customer personnel on a regular basis regarding ongoing compliance and to coordinate system modifications.
Successful candidate should be knowledgeable of information technology security principles, PC Desktops, and Microsoft suite of applications. Assist with self-inspection reviews. This is a multi-tasking environment that demands superior customer service, effective communication, and sound organizational skills. Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills: Final Transferable TOP Secret security clearance
Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) or ISSM experience.
SIPRNet CNDSP Knowledge/experience
Works well independently and in group settings.
Strong interpersonal & communications skills.
Final Transferable Secret security clearance
Last Periodic Re-investigation must be within the last six (6) years.
Must be able to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
DoD IAT Level II certification or higher is required before applying. (Security +, CISSP, etc.).
Must maintain DoD 8570 certification.
Candidate must be a self-starter.
Keen attention to detail and adherence to established security policies. Understanding of DSS and JSIG/RMF certification and accreditation processes for classified systems.
Windows or Linux administration skills.
Strong hands on computer system and networking knowledge.
Should have knowledge of other security disciplines and how they impact and interact with IS security.
