Lockheed Martin Materials Logistics Manager in Stratford, Connecticut

Manage P33 Parts Crib operations and expediting activities with 2 direct reporting supervisors. Drive to eliminate waste while improving flow. Aim to increase quality, throughput, and on-time-delivery while reducing cost, lead-time, and inventory. Work closely with internal departments and customers to improve the business as a whole. Determine and recommend the appropriate hourly staffing levels across multiple shifts to ensure manufacturing operations are fully supported. Develop tools and reports to help better track and understand key business metrics such as cost, parts tracking, scheduling, labor performance, capacity, manpower requirements, quality/COPQ, etc. Monitor & track key metrics daily in order to identify and correct issues as soon as possible. Support business decisions regarding part planning, capacity analysis, machine and manpower requirements, etc. Create cost and labor estimates in support of proposals. Lead, support, and implement Continuous Improvement projects and events. Events include VSMs, 6Ss, 3Ps, Setup Reductions, TPMs, Cell Designs, QCPC/DIVE/RRCAs, and Process Certifications as well as general process improvements and cost reduction initiatives. Create event documentation and train participants in lean concepts as needed to ensure event success. Assist in the maintenance and management of build priority schedules and supply chain support including the management of schedule stability, fixed schedules, surplus orders, quota arrangements, stock transfer orders, manual work orders, and PRs. Assist in the review and process approval in support of make quotes and MHS terminations. Assist in monitoring and dispositioning excess and obsolete inventory. Support the MMAS process activities.

Basic Qualifications Parts Crib Operational and/or Management Experience. Strong lean background (ACE Associate / Practitioner or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt). Strong product/process knowledge. Electronic parts assembly experience is a plus. Experience leading cross-functional teams and presenting project results to all levels of Management. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Experience with gathering and analyzing data, interpreting results, and creating meaningful reports and presentations. Experience using SAP, Solumina, and Hyperion.

Ability to plan for production and release work orders to support customers’ needs on a timely basis. Lead change management for the introduction of processes and tools to improve inventory accuracy and the kitting process. Able to work on multiple tasks and quickly change task priorities due to schedule changes. Ability to work self-sufficiently and be a positive example of the company culture.
