Lockheed Martin Software Engineer in Stratford, Connecticut

Description: The software group at Sikorsky has immediate openings for Software Engineers and Software Developers within the Flight Controls and Autonomy team. The Autonomy team operates the Sikorsky Autonomy Research Aircraft (SARA) and are rapidly expanding to support autonomy on a variety of rotary and fixed wing aircraft.

The Autonomy team is developing an advanced aircraft perception and planning system capable of building a high fidelity world model for mission and trajectory planning, obstacle avoidance, and human interactions.

Candidates with interests or experience in the software and algorithm aspect of perception, robotics, geographic information systems, LiDAR, image processing, sensor fusion, simulation, or geometric modeling are encouraged to apply.

Upon joining the autonomy team, the successful candidate is responsible for implementing algorithms, and developing software for both research and development aircraft. Additional duties include creating and executing benchmarks, data acquisition, documentation, and supporting flight tests.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited University.

Minimum 3.0 GPA requirement

Desired Skills:

• Experience with revision control systems

• US citizen or permanent resident

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

• Proficient in C/C++ and Python

• Use of UNIX/Linux operating system
