Lockheed Martin Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer in Sunnyvale, California
SPACECRAFT ATTITUDE CONTROL SYSTEM ANALYST: Perform a broad range of spacecraft attitude control system tasks including control system design, simulation, modeling, software algorithm definition, implementation, data base definition, and flight operations. Typical tasks: Perform design, analysis, simulation, and software algorithm definition of spacecraft attitude determination and control systems. Perform extensive linear analysis for control system design and nonlinear software simulation for performance prediction. Support subsystem integration and test. Assist in anomaly resolution at the component, system and mission level. In performing these duties, operate under general supervision with regular review, applying concepts to moderately difficult technical problems. Interact with supervision and report activity.
Basic Qualifications Knowledge of aerospace systems and underlying principles, with experience or in-depth training in control systems, dynamics, and software. Knowledge of C++ or FORTRAN or similar language, experience with Matlab and Simulink. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people. Ability to obtain security clearance. Degree (Bachelors or Master's) in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
Desired skills Existing security clearance. Coursework in non-linear control, orbit mechanics, and inertial instruments. Knowledge of both C/C++ and FORTRAN. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word. Strong interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills. Experience with Matlab/Simulink design tools. concentration in control systems. Specific control system coursework or work experience should cover classical, modern, linear, continuous, and discrete system analysis.
