Lockheed Martin Senior RF Test Engineer in Sunnyvale, California
Description: The RF test engineer will be part of a cross functional team testing a commercial communications satellite for broadband applications. The RF engineer will work with peers and more senior engineers on the test system design and test execution. The engineer will have specific tasks related to generating inter-connect drawings, signal level budgets, coordinating RF test activities, and writing procedures. Further responsibilities will also include:
• Configuring and calibrating RF test equipment
• Working with systems engineering on establishing test
• Building test scripts, test databases, and telemetry pages
• Planning and designing test methodologies
• Troubleshooting RF test equipment and the satellite
• Design and validation of RF tests
Desired Skills: Understanding of satellite or wireless communications theory. Experience using RF budgets and RF analysis tools. Experience in RF system design. Detailed understanding of network analyzer test parameters and their impact on test results. Experience troubleshooting in an RF test environment. Familiarity with writing test procedures and working from requirements documents.
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or equivalent.
Proficiency with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, signal generator, and power meter.
Experience calibrating RF test equipment.
Experience performing RF testing.
Experience collaborating with a team on technical projects.
Proficient in Microsoft office.
Strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Willing to work supporting off shifts as needed in a 24/7 operations environment.
Experience programming in Python, C++, Matlab, or VBA.
Proficiency in electrodynamics theory.
