Description: Perform a broad range of spacecraft attitude control system tasks including control system design, simulation, modeling, software algorithm definition, implementation, flight operations, and requirements flowdown. Typical tasks: Perform design, analysis, simulation, and software algorithm definition of spacecraft attitude determination and control systems. Perform linear analysis for control system design and nonlinear high fidelity simulation for performance prediction. Support flight software testing of subsystem. Support subsystem integration & test as well as on-orbit operations. Assist in anomaly resolution at the component, system and mission level. In performing these duties, operate largely independently, applying concepts to highly technical problems while guiding junior engineers. Act as technical representative on projects. Interact with project and central management and report team activity.

Desired Skills: Demonstrated technical knowledge of both attitude determination system analysis and attitude control system analysis. Technical experience with spacecraft rigid body dynamics and flexible body/bending dynamics. Knowledge of basic orbit dynamics. Knowledge of attitude command generators.

Working knowledge of both C++ and FORTRAN. Working knowledge of Simulink.

Experience with Guidance, Navigation & Controls (GN&C) hardware and computer simulation models of GN&C hardware, such as Earth sensors, Sun sensors, star sensors, gyros, reaction wheels, and thrusters and in simulation models of the hardware.

Experience with flight operations, software test, and integrated hardware/software test.

Demonstrated technical knowledge of attitude determination system analysis or attitude control system analysis. Working knowledge of C++ or FORTRAN. Working knowledge of Matlab. Technical knowledge of dynamics. Experience with simulations.
