The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) program is looking for it's next enthusiastic and motivated Staff Systems Engineer. This individual will work in a dynamic team environment performing systems engineering tasks in support of the THAAD System Integration Laboratory (SIL).

The candidate should be able to interact well with peers, leadership, customers, and subcontractors. They must also possess the ability to support technical discussions and communicate in a clear and concise manner.

The candidate should also able to concentrate on system awareness and analysis at all levels, including functional and performance, not just compatibility (not how to put 2 boxes together, but why to put them together in the first place and how this meets/fulfills a Mission requirement).

Tasks include:

-Supporting the SIL's Certified Principle Engineers and engineering team.

-Performing technical planning, system integration, verification & validation, cost & risk, and supportability & effectiveness analyses for total systems.

-Performing analysis at all levels of total system product lifecycle to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

-Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that consider technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

-Performs Requirements, Performance Analysis, System Design and Architecture, ICD Generation, Compatibility Analysis, HW/SW Definition and Integration Inter and Intra System Interfaces.

-Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Typically has 9 - 15 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or equivalent experience.

-US Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

-Proficient in test rack design, testing, and operation.

-Familiar with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.

Desired Skills:

-Active DOD Secret clearance.

-Familiarity with the THAAD weapon system.

-Previous lab experience.

-Certified Test Conductor (CTC) or similar responsibility.

-Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) or similar responsibility.

-Experience in:

---Being a Cost Account Manager (CAM), project planning and/or Earned Value Management (EVM).

---Hardware/software Configuration Management (CM).

---Performing complex software installations across multiple different computing platforms.

---Computer system administration and working with Software Quality Assurance personnel.

---Network configuration and administration.

---Working with COMSEC equipment.

---Video display and routing.

---KVM over IP networks.

---Capital expense planning and procurement.

-Demonstrated ability to:

---Work with minimal direction while maintaining accountability and execution on assigned tasking.

---Effectively convey technical information to peers/customers/management.

---Break through barriers to get to root cause of issues in a timely fashion and drive them to closure.

-Knowledge in any of the following areas: aerospace engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, radar, fire control systems, aerodynamics, trajectory analysis, interface data analysis.

-Willing to travel occasionally (10 days/year).
