Description: This position provides technical support of Production Operations at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in Troy, Alabama. The job duties include the design, development and implementation of manufacturing processes, detailed work instructions, special tooling/equipment and production floor support required to assemble and test a variety of military missiles. The role requires the ability to interpret engineering requirements from product data models, drawings, parts lists and specifications, conduct detailed failure analysis, develop root cause and implement the corrective/preventative actions, demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills including oral, listening, technical writing and visual presentations and have a high level of mechanical hands-on abilities.

The Locale: Troy, Alabama is in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. Troy's climate is typical of areas along the Gulf of Mexico in that it has hot, humid summers and mild winters. Troy is a great place to live offering lots of things to do and has a small-town charm. Troy is also a college town and is home to Troy University. Where can you get to from Troy? Our facility in Troy is just under an hour south of Montgomery, Alabama. Troy is about 2.5 hours north of the Gulf of Mexico and Fort Walton Beach and Florida's Pan Handle. Troy is about three hours from Atlanta, GA.

MFCREFER - Manufacturing Engineer

Desired Skills: -Manufacturing background with mechanical assembly, automation, industrial processes, collaborative teaming and shop floor experience.

-Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, wiring diagrams and GD&T.

-Working knowledge/experience with ordnance assembly process methods and work instructions.

-Experience with Aerospace/Automotive paint/coating automation equipment and processes.

-Familiarity with CATIA 5, CREO, Pro/E or equivalent CAD software in a tool design and packaging environment.

-Familiarity with ISO9000 and AS9100 industry standards, ANSI Y14.5 and common military specifications.

-Working knowledge with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) programmable logic controllers (PLC), Rockwell Control Logix 5000 software, FANUC robotics controllers and computer numerical control (CNC) programming from computer aided design (CAD) models.


-Bachelor or Masters degree from an accredited college in engineering or a related technical discipline.

-Knowledgeable of General Manufacturing Processes & Lean Six Sigma Tools.

-Excellent verbal/written communications and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.

-Fluent with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

-Ability to obtain a secret security clearance and must have at least an interim secret security clearance prior to start.

- Must be able to work all schedules/shifts (day shift, night shift and a weekend schedule).
