Lockheed Martin Space Fence Mission Subsystem (MSS) Computer Tech/System Admin in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Description: Seeking experienced Computer Operations Support Analyst to support the Space fence radar operations site located at Sensor Site (SS) 1 on Kwajalein Atoll. Space Fence is a system of S-Band, ground-based, phased array, space surveillance radars that detect, track, identify, and catalog satellites and orbital debris from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) through Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (GEO). It monitors space events such as breakups, maneuvers, and new foreign launches.
Tasking includes performing mission operations, computer maintenance and reconfiguration on Digital Processing Group and Mission Subsystem, managing communications equipment, network administration, information assurance, data recording/data management. Additional responsibilities may include cross-training with radar technicians to perform maintenance on array equipment, supplementing critical radar corrective maintenance actions/requirements. Successful candidate shall provide a continuous level of engineering services support at the Space Fence radar sensor site located on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
-•Advanced working knowledge and skills associated with computer based maintenance related to digital processing systems/subsystems utilizing Linux, Microsoft, and/or other operating systems.
•CompTIA Security+ Certification with a demonstrated experience in working with Network Administration and Information Assurance Functions.
•Demonstrated experience with the management of electronic communications equipment
•Familiarity with Space Operations and/or Radar Operations in a military/civilian environment.
•Excellent communication skills
•Ability to take direction and perform to exacting standards
•Security Clearance: DoD SECRET
•U.S. passport or the ability to obtain one is required
•Experience with preventative/corrective maintenance on military radar systems/subsystems.
•Knowledge of the space surveillance network and satellite catalog is desirable
•Associates or bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience.
•Cisco Certified Networking Associate and/or Cisco Certified Networking Professional
•Microsoft Technical Certifications
