This position will support the Department of State (DoS), contingent upon award of contract. This role will analyze and correlate multiple data sources to identify trends, characteristics, and anomalous activities. Properly directs analytical products to internal and external customers. Coordinates with counterparts in the Law Enforcement, Intelligence, and Computer Network Defense communities. Maintains and builds relationships with internal customers to include the department’s counterintelligence and professional responsibility elements. Leads and supervises lower-level analysts.
Work will be conducted at DoS facility in Rosslyn, VA (1801 N. Lynn Street Arlington, Virginia 22209) with some limited travel to backup SOC site in Beltsville, MD.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, or other related scientific or technical discipline is desired. Four (4) additional years of general experience (as defined below) may be substituted for the degree.
General Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in advanced network operations with increasing responsibilities.
Specialized Experience: Five (5) years of experience in information security with a focus on network architecture, computer forensics and advanced (packet) network analysis. Three (3) years of technical task management and supervisory experience. One (1) year experience in audit or insider threat analysis. Additional experience in software development and/or statistics is strongly desired.
Certification Required: CISSP
Certification Desired: Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), and GIAC Certified Forensics Analyst (GCFA)
