Lockheed Martin CNC Machine Operator/Programmer in Woodland, Washington

Programs various computer controlled and computer numerically controlled cutting/milling machines to cut, size, shape, surface, and/or mark the profile of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Identifies the correct job to program based on the established manufacturing schedule

Verifies necessary quantity, part number, and revision level of work pieces to be cut according to part drawings, BOM, and/or manufacturing schedule

Identifies required material for CNC processing

Identifies proper tooling including saw blades, router bits, cutting medium/slurry, and others as necessary

Creates, imports, or modifies solid part models as necessary to create CNC program

Creates or modifies CNC program as necessary to generate CNC machine code

Posts CNC program to machine in cooperation with the CNC operator

Thoroughly and accurately completes all paperwork and data entry related to CNC programming of work pieces

Operates various machines in cooperation with the CNC operator as necessary to support improvement efforts and other department needs

Continuously identifies ways to reduce machine cycle time, material scrap and operating costs, reduce downstream labor requirements through automating manual processes, and improve part quality

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Typical Education Requirements One year certificate from college or technical school and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Skills and Abilities Ability to pass a drug and criminal background screen

Other Qualifications Must be a US Persons as defined by the US Department of State
